Appliance Form Factor

As an "Appliance", KOMpliance is delivered as a complete, integrated package: server, internal and/or external storage, operating system (OS), KOMworx Storage Management Suite, multi-level technical support and licenses. There is nothing else for you to buy and no worries about the compatibility issues or unforeseen additional costs that are typical of installations that use components from multiple sources.

Out-of-the-box, Turnkey Installation

Problems encountered during set-up and installation of a new system can significantly delay roll-out and increase your costs. Our process eliminates, as much as possible, these unplanned for costs and delays. We assemble each KOMpliance system per your order and install the Windows Storage Server OS and KOMworx software suite. We then "burn in" each KOMpliance system for a one-week period prior to packaging and shipping. Once delivered, KOMpliance can be unpacked, attached to your network and ready for configuration in as little as 30 minutes. 

Standards-based

We use standards throughout KOMpliance to eliminate many common compatibility issues that can take time and money to resolve. KOMpliance supports all major file serving protocols including SMB/CIFS, NFS, NCP, AppleTalk, HTTP and FTP. KOMpliance also supports DAS-SCSI, iSCSI-SAN & FC-SAN storage. There are no proprietary, and often expensive, connectors to buy.

Simple to Configure, Policy-based File Retention

The pre-installed KOMworx Software Suite employs a simple and intuitive user interface that simplifies setting retention and other compliance policies for individual files, groups of files, or file extensions (.doc, .msg, .eml, .tif, .jpg, .xls, etc.) from specific applications.

Information Lifecycle Management

Compliance regulations often require that files be retained for extended periods of time. Retention periods of decades are not that unusual and in some cases, can essentially be forever.

The KOMworx Storage Management Suite includes automated Information Lifecycle Management (ILM). Our ILM software significantly reduces the costs associated with maintaining files over extended periods of time.

• Automated Data Migration - Simple, "hands-off" ILM is supported by the automatic migration of data between Storage Groups according to the policies defined for the lifecycles.
• Automated Data Retention - Comprehensive data retention policies are set and locked down to ensure data is protected according to the rules. Retention periods can be extended but never reduced.
• Automated ILM Lifecycles - Comprehensive file lifecycles can continuously adapt to any combination of changes in technology, protection, retention, compliance, accessibility, and performance.
